What photo and video formats does Iconosquare accept on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and TikTok?


    Facebook and Instagram supported formats

    You can upload and schedule photos of up to 15MB (for Instagram) and 15MB (for Facebook) and videos up to 100MB (for Instagram) and 150MB (for Facebook).

    Accepted video formats are .avi,.mp4,.3gp,.3g2,.webm,.mkv,.m2v,.m4v,.mov.

     

    To use our automatic posting function, media must meet the following criteria:

    INSTAGRAM

    • Image Specifications

      • Format: JPEG
      • File size: 8 MB maximum
      • Aspect ratio: Must be within a 4:5 to 1.91:1 range
      • Minimum width: 320 (will be scaled up to the minimum if necessary)
      • Maximum width: 1440 (will be scaled down to the maximum if necessary)
      • Height: Varies, depending on width and aspect ratio
      • Color Space: sRGB. Images using other color spaces will have their color spaces converted to sRGB
    • Reel Specifications

      The following are the specifications for Reels:

      • Container: MOV or MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14), no edit lists, moov atom at the front of the file.
      • Audio codec: AAC, 48khz sample rate maximum, 1 or 2 channels (mono or stereo).
      • Video codec: HEVC or H264, progressive scan, closed GOP, 4:2:0 chroma subsampling.
      • Frame rate: 23-60 FPS.
      • Picture size:
        • Maximum columns (horizontal pixels): 1920
        • Required aspect ratio is between 0.01:1 and 10:1 but we recommend 9:16 to avoid cropping or blank space.
      • Video bitrate: VBR, 25Mbps maximum
      • Audio bitrate: 128kbps
      • Duration: 15 mins maximum, 3 seconds minimum
      • File size: 1GB maximum

      The following are the specifications for a Reels cover photo:

      • Format: JPEG
      • File size: 8MB maximum
      • Color Space: sRGB. Images that use other color spaces will be converted to sRGB.
      • Aspect ratio: We recommend 9:16 to avoid cropping or blank space. If the aspect ratio of the original image is not 9:16, we crop the image and use the middle most 9:16 rectangle as the cover photo for the reel. If you share a reel to your feed, we crop the image and use the middle most 1:1 square as the cover photo for your feed post.
    • Story Image Specifications

      • Format: JPEG
      • File size: 8 MB maximum.
      • Aspect ratio: We recommended 9:16 to avoid cropping or blank space
      • Color Space: sRGB. Images using other color spaces will have their color spaces converted to sRGB
    • Story Video Specifications

    FACEBOOK

    • Photo Specifications

      • File type: jpeg, bmp, png, and non-animated GIFs
      • File size: 4MB maximum (recommended). For png files, we recommend not exceeding 1MB or the image may appear pixelated.
    • Reel Specifications

      • File type: mp4
      • Aspect Ratio: 9 x 16
      • Resolution recommended: 1080 x 1920 pixels. Minimum is 540 x 960 pixels
      • Frame Rate: 24 to 60 frames per second
      • Duration: 3 to 90 seconds.

      A reel published as a story on a Facebook Page cannot exceed 60 seconds.

      • Video Settings:
        • Chroma subsampling 4:2:0
        • Closed GOP (2-5 seconds)
        • Compression – H.264, H.265 (VP9, AV1 are also supported)
        • Fixed frame rate
        • Progressive scan
      • Audio Settings:
        • Audio bitrate – 128kbs+
        • Channels – Stereo
        • Codec – AAC Low Complexity
        • Sample rate – 48kHz

    Stories specifications are the same as the above, except that for a video, a video story can not exceed 60 seconds.

    TWITTER

    • Image Specifications
      • Supported image media types: JPG, PNG, GIF, WEBP
      • Maximum file size: 5MB
      • For multi-image posts, you can schedule up to 4 images at a time
    • Animated GIF Specifications
      • Maximum file size: 15 MB
      • Maximum resolution: 1280 x 1080 (width x height)
      • Maximum number of frames: 350
      • Maximum number of pixels: 300 million
    • Video Specifications
      • Maximum file size: 512 MB
      • Maximum frame rate: 60 FPS
      • Dimensions:
        • width min: 32, width max: 1024
        • height min: 32, height max: 1280
      • Duration: Between 0.5 and 140 seconds
      • Aspect ratio: Between 1:3 and 3:1

    LINKEDIN

    • Photo Specifications

      • Images with less than 36152320 pixels
      • Format: JPG, GIF and PNG formats

      GIF format supports up to 250 frames

      • Between 2 and 9 images for multi-image posting
    • Video Specifications

      • Length: 3 seconds to 30 minutes
      • File size: Between 75kb and 500MB
      • File format: MP4

    TIKTOK

    • Photo Specifications
      • Maximum resolution: 1080 x 1920 px or 1920 x 1080 px
      • File size: within 20 MB for each image
      • File type: JPG, JPEG
    • Video Specifications
      • Audio-video content must be in MP4 or MOV
      • Maximum video size: 1 GB
      • Video duration: 3 seconds to 10 minutes
      • Minimum height and width: 360 pixels
      • Minimum frame rate must be 23 FPS
      • Maximum frame rate is 60 FPS

      • Limit: 2,200 characters, including a maximum of 30 mentions
