Sometimes you may see that the data shown on Iconosquare for a Reel may differ from what you see on Instagram. Why is that? 🤔
As you might be aware, if you post a reel on Instagram and your account is public, you can choose to have your reel shown as recommended content on Facebook.
On Instagram, when looking at your data, you will see a combined total of views and interactions for the Reel's performance on Instagram and Facebook added together.
On Iconosquare you will see the data for the Reel's performance on Instagram only as this is what the API allows for.
For example, if you have a Reel that shows 2000 views on Instagram, 1800 of which were on Instagram and 200 on Facebook, then the data on Iconosquare would show 1800 views as these were the only ones that came through the Instagram API.
It is also worth noting that if someone views or likes your reel from an Instagram and a Facebook account, it will count as two separate views or likes, even if they've added their accounts to an Accounts Centre.
Changing this setting
To change this setting for a specific reel or only for reels that you share in the future, tap Recommend on Facebook, then tap switch off to turn it on or switch off to turn it off before sharing a reel. If you can't see Recommend on Facebook, it may be in your advanced settings.
